We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at the Cleveland Clinic. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, maintaining patient safety, and ensuring the highest level of care and comfort for our patients.
Responsibilities- Prepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure.
- Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart, and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.
- Verify and validate patient screening safety form.
- Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA.
- Perform venipunctures and maintain competencies.
- Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment, and exam.
- Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
- Assist with scheduling of patients.
- Administer proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam.
- Acquire, archive, transmit, and print images via PACS.
- Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
- Immediately report any malfunctions and observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or call for service.
- Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
- Process billing via RIS.
- Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.
- Learns new technical information and skills.
- Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions.
- Potentially rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT.
- Must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing.
- Or must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
- Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) required within one year of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
The MRI Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment with minimal or no direct supervision. The ideal candidate will have advanced interpersonal and communication skills to provide excellent care to patients and families.
