Quality Control Specialist

The Quality Control Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity and excellence of our products at The Fountainhead Group, Inc. This position is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of first pieces, incoming materials, in-process items, and finished products as directed by the Quality Control Manager or Supervisor. Maintaining accurate records is essential to meet both company and customer documentation standards. Additionally, the Quality Control Specialist will evaluate and document all customer returns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform First Article Inspections on all new or revised products.
- Conduct inspections throughout the manufacturing process, including raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, and final products.
- Ensure appropriate measures are taken when non-conforming materials are identified, which may involve recommending a halt to production based on defect severity.
- Verify that all operators are processing or assembling materials according to Work Orders and/or Bill of Materials (BOM), and report any discrepancies to the Supervisor, Assistant Quality Control Manager, and Quality Control Manager.
- Document all inspections performed and any non-conforming products discovered during the inspection process.
- Create Discrepancy Material Reports (DMRs) in Epicor for all non-conforming products.
- Utilize basic measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
- Adhere to all Quality Control procedures outlined in the High-Level Procedure Book.
- Follow all Quality Plans and Test Procedures as specified in the Quality Assurance Plan/Test Book.
- Oversee the examination, disposition, and documentation of all customer returns.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in all Quality Control work areas.
- Complete all tasks assigned by the Assistant Quality Control Manager, Quality Control Manager, or Director of Quality in a timely manner.
- New hires for second and third shifts must be able to train on the first shift.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education is required.
- Previous experience in Quality Control and/or Manufacturing is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to review and document a high volume of product evaluations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in operating basic measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
- A collaborative team player.
