Position Overview:

The Budget Analyst plays a crucial role in financial oversight, focusing on monitoring expenditures and aiding in the formulation of budget forecasts. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, this position supports the Finance team's daily operations and facilitates inter-departmental initiatives. The Budget Analyst will also collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer on various special projects as needed. This role provides the opportunity to independently develop, organize, and manage projects aimed at enhancing workflows and services for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain financial reports to track expenditures related to staffing and procurement of resources.
• Update budget tracking documents and create analyses to assess spending patterns.
• Assist in coordinating and monitoring project timelines and deliverables to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain and distribute tracking and summary documents to departmental leadership.
• Review and organize departmental matrices and related documentation.
• Identify fiscal and operational challenges, recommending solutions backed by thorough analysis.
• Conduct detailed analyses regarding resource allocation effectiveness.
• Support the development, evaluation, implementation, and monitoring of key correctional health programs and initiatives within the NYC jail system.
• Perform ad hoc reporting and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution; and,
2. Two years of experience in business, government, healthcare, education, or non-profit sectors focusing on analysis, development, and implementation of systems; or,
3. A Master's Degree in Management, Business Administration, or a related field may substitute for up to one year of experience; or,
4. A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
