A Shim Grind Machine Operator is responsible for operating shim grind machines to examine and feel the surface of work pieces for defects. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and possess Statistical Process Control (SPC) training and the ability to read blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:
Examines and feels surface of work piece for defects
Performs set-up procedures on grinder machines
Loads grinding fixtures with appropriate parts and starts grinder
Dresses grinding stone as required for flatness and sharpness
Replaces worn grinding stones as needed
Adjusts grinders and performs preventative maintenance as required
Use and confirm proper operation of all safety devices and procedures
