Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Hemodialysis Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report any unusual incidents, information, complaints, or problems to the RN, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Support the FMCNA commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAI) Activities, actively participating in process improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with the Fresenius Nurse to set up and prime equipment for renal replacement therapies, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Evaluate vascular access for patency, reporting any unusual findings to the FMCNA RN, and perform vascular access cannulation as directed.
  • Initiate renal replacement treatment according to prescribed orders, ensuring appropriate safety alarms are enabled and accurate documentation is maintained.
  • Collect, label, and deliver specimens to the laboratory, evaluating intradialytic problems and providing intervention as prescribed.
  • Discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures, evaluating patients' vascular access during treatment and obtaining hemostasis and applying appropriate dressings.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required
  • 1 year's related experience
  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Certification (CCHT) certification
