Veterinarian - Bentonville, AR

Best Friends Animal Society is seeking a skilled Veterinarian to join our team in Bentonville, AR. As a Veterinarian, you will provide high-quality veterinary care for our program animals, including pets in our care and high-volume spay and neuter surgeries.
Key Responsibilities- Examine, diagnose, and treat program animals, upholding medical standards of care.
- Perform a variety of procedures, including high-volume spay and neuter, and maintain knowledge of shelter medicine.
- Support on-call and emergency response, ensuring a safe and effective clinic environment.
- Communicate with shelters, outside veterinarians, and clinics regarding cases, including referrals or post-adoption support.
- Promote continuing development of medical care through continued education and stay up-to-date on veterinary concerns and trends in animal welfare.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) degree.
- Licensed in good standing with the state veterinary board and license or application for license with the Drug Enforcement Agency.
- Bilingual or multi-lingual skills preferred but not required.
- Customer-centric, non-judgmental approach to engaging with adopters, partners, visitors, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Ability to work with, leash, kennel, walk, and handle cats and dogs, including those with health and/or behavior conditions/concerns.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a team player, personable, professional, and able to get along with people from different backgrounds.
- Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods, including typing, sitting, walking, arm, and hand motion.
- Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Routinely lift 40 pounds and perform daily strenuous activity, including lifting, carrying, reaching, stooping, squatting, cleaning, and bending.
- Exposure to dogs, cats, and other animals of all sizes, temperaments, and medical status.
