Role Responsibilities and QualificationsAs a Certified Cardiac Catheterization Technician, you will take on multiple responsibilities, including serving as a Cardiovascular Technician or Hemodynamic Recorder during catheterization procedures. Your expertise will ensure technical proficiency in all related procedures and equipment, assisting physicians in delivering high-quality cardiac care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac catheterization procedures, serving primarily as a Cardiac Catheterization Technician or Hemodynamic Recorder.
- Identify cardiac structures and related disease processes.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols, practicing ALARA principles.
- Assist in data entry for accurate hemodynamic pressure assessments.
- Report on cardiac function using appropriate analysis programs.
- Ensure proper archiving of angiographic and procedural data.
- Verify the completeness of procedure documentation in both physical and digital formats.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
- New hires must meet one of the following criteria:
- One year of full-time experience in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology.
- An Associate Degree or equivalent coursework in health or related fields.
- Graduation from an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program.
- Completion of a non-accredited program with substantial clinical training.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- ARRT certification or equivalent.
- Current certification for Cath Lab Technicians, with successful completion of the RCIS/RCES exam within the specified timeframe.
