The Operational Finance team serves as a talent pipeline for leadership roles within the Finance and Accounting sectors. As an Operational Finance Analyst, you will engage with multiple tiers of leadership, including our executive team. Your role will be pivotal as a financial liaison, merging accounting functions with operational support for our business. Furthermore, you will provide project-level assistance to our project teams, including Project Managers, Field Superintendents, and Project Controls teams, among others. You will also have the chance to contribute to both departmental and company-wide initiatives, leveraging your business acumen and technical expertise to critically assess and resolve complex challenges, thereby delivering value to our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate financial data and key performance indicators across the Company, divisions, and locations to deliver insightful analysis to leadership.
  • Examine contracts, interpret financial implications, ensure proper revenue recognition practices, apply engineering and construction accounting standards, and assess risks on the most significant and complex projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction project teams to support project financials and forecasting efforts.
  • Execute tasks and processes to facilitate timely and accurate month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Assist in client-initiated audits, project-specific financial audits, and the annual financial audit for the organization.
  • Engage in both formal and informal training for project managers and division management.
  • Support special initiatives focused on innovation and process enhancement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant accounting experience; additional credit may be awarded for public accounting experience.
  • One year of extra credit for CPA or MBA qualifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, well-organized, and possessing strong client service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in accounting for contracts within the construction or engineering sectors, particularly with percentage of completion revenue recognition.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and Microsoft Power BI.
  • CPA certification.
