Medical Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Oncology RN to join our team at Holy Name Medical Center. As a key member of our outpatient medical oncology practice, you will work closely with a team of doctors to provide high-quality care to patients with breast oncology and/or liquid tumor malignancies.
Responsibilities- Deliver patient care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Care and Practice, Patient Bill of Rights, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care according to changing health care needs.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient teaching using appropriate education resources and evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching.
- Model effective leadership skills through role modeling, mentoring, and effective communication.
- Directly delegate and supervise the practice of ancillary staff and is knowledgeable of the tenets of the NJ Scope of Practice guidelines.
- Support a professional practice environment by functioning as a role model and resource person and also functions as a preceptor for nursing staff and participates in the orientation of other unit employees.
- Participate in unit-based and organization-wide activities, committees, and community activities as appropriate.
- Identify own learning needs with respect to nursing practice and pursue educational support to meet these needs.
- Routinely utilize Evidence-Based Practice literature, policy, and procedure manuals and other available reference materials to ensure consistency and accuracy in the delivery of care.
- Participate actively in the Performance Improvement process to evaluate the quality of nursing care delivered to patients.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing holding current New Jersey license required.
- Bachelor's Degree BSN degree preferred.
- Will consider newly licensed graduates.
- Minimum one-year current clinical experience preferred.
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure current NJ license upon hire required.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS through American Heart Association upon hire required.
- National certification related to specialty area upon hire preferred.
- Oncology Cert. preferred.
