Position Overview:
The Patient Care Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality care for patients in the Pre-Op, PACU, Phase II, OR, and Procedure Room areas of the surgical facility, under the guidance of registered nursing staff.
This is a part-time position with variable shifts during weekdays, specifically from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, based at our surgical center.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient rooming, vital signs monitoring, documentation, and preparation for procedures.
- Support the transfer of patients between care phases and aid in discharge processes, including dressing assistance and transportation via wheelchair when necessary.
- Facilitate daily living activities for patients within the surgical center.
- Provide assistance to physicians in the procedure room as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas, ensuring all supplies are stocked appropriately.
- Adapt to various roles across different areas of the center as needed, demonstrating flexibility in meeting staffing requirements.
- Prioritize care based on individualized patient plans, applying aseptic techniques and safety precautions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and streamline surgical processes.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to foster professional growth and meet departmental requirements.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; Nursing Assistant Certification preferred.
- Current BLS certification or completion upon hire.
Essential Skills:
- Adhere to company policies and ethical guidelines.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to navigate the surgical center efficiently, with physical capability for lifting and prolonged standing.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients and team members.
