Emergency Department Nurse Leader

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Emergency Department, a distinguished Level 2 Trauma Center.
As an Emergency Department Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a cohesive team of nurses and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
You will be responsible for coordinating and communicating patient care needs, developing individualized plans of nursing care, and implementing and evaluating patient responses to care.
In addition, you will ensure timely and efficient admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, demonstrating leadership by providing information as a resource nurse, mentor, and coach.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and communicates patient care needs for discharge planning in interdisciplinary care conferences and with members of the health care team.
- Develops and implements an individualized plan of nursing care with the patient and family that will address the patient's and family's identified needs and concerns.
- Collaborates with physicians and other health team members in coordinating the plan of care and facilitating patient outcomes.
- Implements and evaluates the patient's response to care through assessment and reassessment and updates the plan of care.
- Provides care based on established standards of practice, policies and protocols.
- Ensures that patients are admitted, transferred and discharged in a timely and efficient manner.
- Demonstrates leadership by providing information as a resource nurse, mentor and coach and delegator of nursing care activities.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Current valid North Carolina nursing license required.
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) THROUGH AMERICAN RED CROSS OR AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION REQUIRED.
- 1 Year of ED experience in an acute hospital setting.

Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per year
