Purpose

Safely and efficiently deliver and pick up Metalico containers at customer sites. Perform all job duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Adhere to DOT regulations for safe driving practices.
• Ensure every trip is completed safely, adhering to speed limits and maintaining an accident-free record.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all trucks driven daily.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and submit it at the end of each workday.
• Secure loads properly using tarps as needed and ensuring materials are distributed appropriately.
• Maneuver the truck safely and efficiently at customer sites at all times.
• Monitor the truck's mechanical functions and ensure maintenance is performed according to schedules.
• Maintain awareness of permitted and prohibited materials for hauling, including hazardous materials.
• Refrain from using mobile phones for dialing, holding conversations, or texting while driving.
• Prioritize safety by following all safety rules, wearing appropriate PPE, and actively seeking opportunities to enhance safety measures.
• Participate in mandatory scheduled safety meetings.
• In the event of an accident or injury, immediately report the incident to the transportation manager and follow their instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements is required. Experience operating roll-off trucks is preferred. A strong commitment to safety and customer service is essential.
