The successful candidate will consistently perform the following duties:

  • Ensure the health and welfare of live animals by adhering to company standards, including regular health checks.

  • Provide prompt service by identifying customer needs and recommending suitable products.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of nutrition and membership programs to enhance sales.
  • Facilitate an exceptional customer experience across all service channels.
  • Manage point-of-sale transactions, including cash, credit, and returns.
  • Assist in stocking and organizing merchandise according to standards.
  • Complete cash register transactions and assist with customer carry-out services.
  • Adhere to loss prevention strategies.
  • Support inventory management through proper stocking and organization.
  • Ensure the highest quality care for store animals, maintaining clean and secure habitats.
  • Report any animal health concerns to store leadership promptly.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks to uphold the store's professional appearance.
  • Assist in store opening and closing procedures, including paperwork.
  • Participate in inventory counts as required.
  • Promote safety procedures to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

None.

Work Environment:

This role primarily takes place indoors, though certain tasks may require brief outdoor activity. The position involves physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs and moving merchandise. Proper safety protocols must be followed to prevent injury.
