Job Summary

The Aftercare AOD Counselor is a vital member of the Phoenix House team, responsible for delivering high-quality programming services to participants in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming services to participants.
  • Conduct group and individual sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Evaluate and document participant progress.
  • Develop collaborative, individualized treatment plans.
  • Document treatment outcomes and maintain accurate participant records.
  • Engage participants daily, reinforce group rules, and promote completion.
  • Protect participant health, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS and institutional staff.
  • Adhere to professional standards and organizational requirements.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and attend required training sessions.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in a social service-related field and be licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences or registered with an AOD certifying organization recognized by DHCS.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, and proficiency in MS Office systems is required.
