The Assistant Teacher role is a vital part of our teaching team, reporting directly to the School Director. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for our students. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with lesson planning, implementing educational programs, and providing individualized support to students as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing educational programs that meet the needs of our students.
  • Provide individualized support to students, including academic and social support.
  • Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other school staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements

  • At least two years' experience in a licensed child-care facility, kindergarten, or early childhood program.
  • Experience in teaching preschoolers.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
