Job Summary:

The Estimator is responsible for preparing time, cost, and labor estimates for assigned projects, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, and/or processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for projects, considering factors such as materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure estimates are comprehensive and up-to-date.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to assess their capabilities and determine the best value for projects.
  • Provide ongoing cost estimate support to operations, including entering quantities into software programs and providing initial data for entry into Commence software.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and obstacles that could impact project timelines and budgets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, accounting, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 3 years of related experience in estimation, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Estimating software (such as Timberline, UScost, WinEst).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and government regulations.
