Heavy Equipment Technician

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Vulcan Materials Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our construction equipment. Your expertise in repairing and maintaining mobile equipment will be essential in maximizing performance and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Promote a culture of safety throughout the operation, adhering to MSHA and Vulcan standards.
Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
Inspect equipment and materials to identify and troubleshoot errors, performing repairs as needed.
Handle and move objects safely throughout the shop and plant, ensuring accurate documentation of mobile equipment maintenance.
Operate equipment as needed to ensure efficient production, assisting in driving heavy equipment and vehicles when necessary.
Requirements
Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred.
Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.
Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours, as well as tolerate exposure to loud noises and varying weather conditions.
Strong mechanical skills, including knowledge of industrial tools and their maintenance.
