Overview:
Position Summary
The Bulk Foods Clerk is responsible for establishing and maintaining the department's standards, including bulk food bins and equipment (such as honey and peanut butter dispensers). This role emphasizes delivering friendly and courteous service to both internal and external customers while ensuring product quality and selection. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively seeks opportunities to greet, engage, serve, and express gratitude to customers, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Handles freight by moving products, organizing inventory, and operating equipment as necessary.
  • Dispenses products into barrels and dispensers, ensuring proper placement and organization.
  • Manages the coffee station, including grinding, brewing, and stocking supplies.
  • Maintains various machines (e.g., honey and peanut butter dispensers) by loading products, cleaning, and ensuring adequate supply of containers.
  • Ensures a safe and secure working environment.
  • Provides customer service support, assisting customers in locating products and utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maintains cleanliness and visual appeal of the work area, storage space, and sales floor.
  • Performs cleaning duties such as mopping, sweeping, and disposing of waste.
  • Upholds integrity and honesty in all tasks performed.
  • Completes other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications:

Skills and Abilities:

  • Consistently delivers friendly and courteous service to all customers.
  • Available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a 24/7 environment.
  • Communicates effectively with customers to take orders, upsell, and provide assistance.
  • Conducts visual inspections and follows guides, recipes, and product labels accurately.
  • Capable of lifting, stacking, and maneuvering objects weighing up to 30-50 lbs. regularly.
  • Operates hand trucks, carts, and pallet jacks safely.
  • Stands, walks, and moves quickly for extended periods.
  • Bends, stoops, twists, and climbs ladders as necessary.
  • Demonstrates manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Possesses basic math skills for calculations.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills through effective communication.
  • Works safely with potential hazards related to equipment and tools.
  • Handles cleaning chemicals and food products appropriately.
  • Adheres to personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Completes primary duties efficiently and accurately.

Additional Requirements:

  • Food Handlers Certification as per state regulations.

Equipment Used:

  • Operates tools and equipment such as knives, scales, trash compactors, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and ladders.
