We are seeking a highly skilled Electric Field Planner A to join our team at Avangrid. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for determining the most economical and adequate arrangement and location of electric facilities, including poles, conductors, services, streetlights, and transformers.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Planning: Determine the optimal placement and configuration of electric facilities to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery.
- Equipment Location: Locate equipment such as capacitors, sectionalizing devices, and regulators, working closely with engineering teams to ensure compliance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Survey and Mapping: Conduct preliminary and center-line surveys for distribution and transmission lines, preparing construction sketches, contour maps, and related data in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with customers, contractors, municipalities, other utilities, and the general public to exchange information and resolve issues.
- Team Leadership: Guide the work of lower-rated employees, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare one-line diagrams, bills of material, cost estimates, permits, and billing data, or provide sufficient data for others to prepare them.
- Investigation and Resolution: Investigate voltage conditions and customer complaints, working to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Permitting and Easements: Obtain necessary permissions and easements, making joint telephone arrangements as required.
- Restoration and Maintenance: Participate in restoring service interrupted by storms and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability of our electric infrastructure.
- Load Balance Studies: Gather and assemble data for load balance studies, working to optimize our electric distribution system.
- Education: Possess an A.A.S. degree in Electrical Technology.
- Experience: Have three years' combined experience as an Electric Field Planner Trainee, 'C' and 'B'.
- Skills and Knowledge: Possess a thorough knowledge of electrical instruments, materials, equipment, and apparatus, as well as Company policies, joint facilities agreements, construction standards, and accounting procedures.
- Licenses and Certifications: Hold a current New York State automobile operator's license.
