Job Summary:
The Health Educator (CHES) is a key member of the UF Health team, responsible for delivering high-quality diabetes education to patients in various settings. This role requires a strong understanding of diabetes management and the ability to develop and implement effective educational programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver diabetes education programs for patients in individual and group settings
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care to patients with diabetes
- Participate in outreach events to promote diabetes awareness and education in the community
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in diabetes management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in health education or a related field
- CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) certification
- Preferred: prior experience in diabetes management and certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
Working Conditions:
This role requires frequent travel to various UF Health locations and occasional weekend work.
