Job Overview:

IT Associates is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to lead and oversee a team of software engineers in the design, development, testing, and deployment of cutting-edge software solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day engineering operations, ensuring the timely delivery of projects, driving innovation, and aligning engineering activities with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers to drive high performance and professional growth.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for multiple projects, from requirements gathering to design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
  • Work with the engineering team to make technical decisions, including architecture, frameworks, and tooling.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including product management, QA, and operations, to align project priorities, define scope, and ensure successful delivery.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, continuously improving development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Manage team resources, including workload distribution, hiring, and succession planning.
  • Identify and address any skill gaps within the team.
  • Ensure software products meet high-quality standards by implementing and overseeing testing practices.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in project delivery and software performance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in software development, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role leading software engineering teams.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and modern development practices.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
  • 8+ years as a .NET Software Engineer utilizing an OO language.
  • Strong technical background – Preferably in the Microsoft technology stack (.NET) and experience with WCF, Web API, HTTP and Socket, with a deep understanding of software development, architecture, and design patterns.
  • Previous experience with a service and message-based architecture.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server and ORMs like Dapper and Entity Framework.
  • Possess a strong understanding and proficiency of HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JS Frameworks like Angular 2+, , or .
  • Knowledge of test planning and test automation using tools such as Selenium, Nunit, Cypress or equivalent.
  • Familiar with a continuous integration environment.
  • Experience in an automated testing environment.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop talent.
  • Solid project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
  • Previous experience managing remote or distributed teams.
