Position Overview

Role:

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our Mobile Team, focusing on the creation of innovative Android applications that seamlessly integrate with our service platform. This role will report directly to the Director of Mobile and involves overseeing application architecture, development, and the introduction of new features to enhance consumer mobile solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Android design and development, with a portfolio of applications available on the Google Play store. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to transform diverse and evolving requirements into actionable plans. Experience in both dynamic startup environments and structured corporate settings is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of mobile applications for the Android platform.
  • Engage in code reviews, wireframe designs, and proof of concept initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to analyze and resolve production issues and defects.
  • Coordinate with the Release Engineering team on application deployment activities.
  • Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including meetings, iterative development, estimations, and design sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a technical lead role with a strong grasp of Android UX and UI design principles.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Java, Android Studio, Gradle, and other integrated development environment (IDE) tools.
  • Proficient in Object-Oriented design principles and patterns.
  • Experience in optimizing high-volume mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with integrating RESTful API backends.
  • A passion for working in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative environment.
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to create clear specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills across teams and roles.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and with high quality.
  • Ability to manage full life cycle engagements effectively.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% for conferences and meetings.
