Medical Waste Route Driver Specialist

About the Role:
As a Medical Waste Route Driver at Stericycle, you will be responsible for servicing assigned accounts in a professional manner, ensuring customer needs are met for various waste pickup and supply delivery. You may transport waste from a Stericycle or customer location to a transfer or processing location. All vehicles are equipped with camera telematics, ELD, and GPS.
The ideal candidate should have 6+ months of experience in driving shred/box trucks and route management. Additionally, they must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid standard driver's license with an excellent driving record, and be able to obtain and retain a valid Medical Examiner Card. Fluency in English is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely pick up and transport waste according to federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
* Plan daily schedules based on customers' needs by reviewing daily paperwork provided by the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher.
* Follow routing software route schedule.
* Prepare and load trucks to service select accounts for the day.
* Unload trucks at Stericycle and customer sites, ensuring waste is secured.
* Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day.
* Ensure customers have packaged and prepared waste according to federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
* Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily, communicating any issues to the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution.
Additional Requirements:
* Complete assigned paperwork legibly, neatly, accurately, and completely.
* Communicate with Stericycle Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher regarding any change to route pickups.
* Report any problems/issues with accounts to Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher before the close of business each day.
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on assigned trucks.
