We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter to join our Energy Underwriting team at The Hartford. Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with energy leadership to complete new and renewal business production underwriting, service accounts, and identify key energy agents/brokers.
- Implement sales and marketing activities to drive business growth and demonstrate a strong customer focus.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of The Hartford's energy practice appetite and strategy, which focuses on oil & gas, renewable energy, and more.
- Work in a team environment to provide exceptional customer service and support to our energy clients.
- 5+ years of P&C Middle Market Carrier Underwriting experience, with a strong preference for energy sector experience.
- College degree, industry designation, or equivalent business experience.
- Energy UW experience related to oil & gas, renewable energy (wind/solar), or surface mining risks is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with diverse groups.
- Strong time management and organization skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel within the territory, with a valid driver's license and access to a company pool car.
The Hartford offers a competitive salary range of $76,320 - $144,840, with opportunities for career growth and advancement. We also offer a hybrid or remote work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) or remotely as business needs arise.
