Radiation Safety Specialist

Lantheus is seeking a dedicated and experienced Radiation Safety Specialist to join our Radiation Protection program. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe use of radioactive materials in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Lantheus policy requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine radiation surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collect, process, and analyze samples using bioassays, environmental air and water effluents, and contamination wipe test samples.
  • Monitor and evaluate individual dose levels using dosimetry.
  • Complete complex calibrations of radioanalytical instruments and assist with dosimetry evaluations.
  • Maintain or assist environmental air and water sampling computer database and provide timely information to operations groups.
  • Stay updated on current regulations and best practices in health physics and radiation safety.
Training and Collaboration:
  • Develop and present radiation safety training programs to individuals and groups.
  • Provide functional support to other groups by conducting operational studies, audits, and personnel dose assessments.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure radiation safety practices are documented and integrated into daily operations.
Emergency Response:

Actively contribute to the site's Emergency Response Team by promptly responding to emergencies and incidents.

  • Investigate and respond to incidents involving radiation exposure or contamination.
