Mosaic Garden Horticulturist

This role involves contributing to the upkeep and management of the mosaic collection within the Garden.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain general care of mosaic culture sculptures.
- Assist with plant transplantation.
- Perform shearing and plant care to enhance the visual appeal and design of each sculpture.
- Act as a horticultural resource for the Garden.
- Support the creation of seasonal displays.
- Engage in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform moderate physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Experience using ladders and lifts.
- Familiarity with hand tools and gardening equipment is advantageous.
- Prior experience interacting with the public is beneficial.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
Educational Background
Associate's Degree in horticulture, botany, or a related discipline, or two years of practical gardening experience is preferred.
Physical Demands
- Must be capable of sustaining moderate physical activity consistently, including lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted and moving large items.
- Ability to operate hand and power gardening tools.
- Experience operating a tractor, forklift, and chainsaw is required.
- Must possess physical strength and endurance to work in varying temperatures.
- Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols is essential.
- Required to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Mental Requirements
- Must effectively manage and respond to multiple, changing, and often conflicting priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively and enthusiastically with the public, along with basic computer skills.
