Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
  • Perform daily patient rounds and monitor progress.
  • Evaluate patient responses to medications and treatments.
  • Communicate effectively with the Supervising Physician regarding patient health status.
  • Document patient encounters and prepare discharge summaries.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health management.
  • Adhere to Physician Assistant Standards in all clinical practices.
  • Order necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests as directed.
  • Assist in surgical procedures as needed.
  • Provide in-service training and consultations to nursing staff.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida License and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
  • Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Physician Assistant is advantageous.
