MECM/SCCM Systems Engineer

The MECM/SCCM Systems Engineer will be responsible for software maintenance and engineering support within a dynamic environment. This role focuses on the administration of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) to ensure efficient software deployment and compliance across multiple AWS-hosted Windows 2019 instances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and oversee software update deployments utilizing MECM to maintain endpoint security and compliance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to schedule maintenance windows for updates, ensuring minimal disruption to user productivity.
- Customize deployment packages and software update groups within MECM to target specific device collections, implementing effective testing and rollout strategies.
- Troubleshoot deployment issues, including installation failures and compliance discrepancies, to ensure successful software updates.
- Design automated workflows for third-party software updates using MECM, leveraging vendor catalogs and custom packages.
- Work closely with application owners to package and deploy software applications, adhering to best practices for compatibility and user experience.
- Monitor deployment success rates and compliance levels through MECM reports, proactively addressing any issues.
- Continuously assess and enhance MECM deployment processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
Required Qualifications:
- TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required or active TS/SCI with willingness to obtain a Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for education.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or similar languages.
- Experience in software installation and upgrades.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in a secure Windows environment.
- At least 2 years of direct experience with MECM/SCCM.
- Must possess a DoD 8570 compliant IAT Level II or higher certification upon hire, such as CompTIA Security+ CE or CISSP.
- Basic understanding of remote administration, virtualized environments, and cloud computing, particularly AWS.
- Familiarity with Configuration Management and Change Request processes.
- Working knowledge of SAFe Agile principles and the ability to function within an Agile framework.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for education.
- 4+ years of direct MECM/SCCM experience.
- Experience in establishing new MECM/SCCM infrastructure.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, especially using GitLab.
- Experience with Python 3, Boto3, Amazon CLI, or similar scripting tools.
- Knowledge of Ansible for RHEL 9 requirements.
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
