Job SummaryWe are seeking experienced and certified therapists to join our team as Recreational Therapists, Music Therapists, Art Therapists, or Adjunctive Therapists. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with adolescents and adults, providing comprehensive recreational therapy and expressive therapies as an adjunct to patient treatment.
Responsibilities- Develop, organize, and implement comprehensive recreational therapy programs
- Interact with patients during daily routine activities, consistent with the organization's treatment program design, mission, and vision
- Assess, evaluate, and interpret patient progress, using evidence-based practices and principles of positive growth and development
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting healthy coping mechanisms and lifestyle changes
- Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or a related field, with a completion of a creative arts/expressive therapy/animal-assisted therapy certification program
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
- Excellent communication, assessment, evaluation, and interpretation skills
- Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment
- Understanding of DSM-V methodology
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a healthcare field, with inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
- Must be 21 years of age and meet qualifications for fingerprint clearance
- CPR and TO certification required within 30 days of hire
