This role is an excellent opportunity for college students aspiring to pursue a career in physical therapy, providing valuable hands-on experience in a nurturing and motivating setting.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support physical therapists in patient care by preparing treatment areas, organizing equipment, and maintaining a clean workspace.
- Assist clients with therapeutic exercises and activities under the guidance of a physical therapist.
- Keep precise and thorough patient records, ensuring timely completion of all documentation.
- Help with patient scheduling, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications.
- Ensure all equipment is sanitized and functioning properly.
- Assist in educating clients on effective exercise techniques and strategies for injury prevention.
- Create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for clients, ensuring their experience at our facility is enjoyable and stress-free.
- Engage in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative and enjoyable work environment.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a college program, ideally with an interest in physical therapy, kinesiology, or a related discipline (preferred but not mandatory).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- A positive demeanor, with a sincere desire to assist others and contribute to a team.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently when required.
- Basic understanding of human anatomy and exercise methods is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment is beneficial but not essential.
