Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) team at Lutheran Hospital. As a PRN RN Cardiac ICU Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to critically ill patients with cardiac and coronary conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Direct and coordinate nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote health and wellness.

Requirements:

  • Current Indiana RN license or compact license.
  • 1-2 years of current ICU experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • AED/Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 7 days of hire.
  • ACLS certification optional.

CICU Patient Population:

  • Cardiac Arrest/Post Arrest
  • Respiratory Arrest/Failure
  • Acute MI, NSTEMI, ACS
  • Pulmonary Edema/Unstable CHF/Cardiomyopathy
  • Pulmonary Hypertension
  • Acute Renal Failure
  • Sepsis/Septic Shock
  • Pulmonary Embolism/DVT
  • Heart Blocks/Pacemakers

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Cardioversions, Arterial Line Placement, Central Venous Catheter Placement, Temporary Pacemaker, Swan Ganz, Dialysis Catheter Placement
  • Carotid Stent, TAVR, EVAR, VT Ablations, Coronary Stent, Valvuloplasty, EKOS
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, TABLO for CRRT, Impella for LVAD, Ventilator, Continuous Cardiac Output (Swan Ganz Catheter), Zoll Defibrillators, Targeted Temperature Management (Zoll and Arctic Sun), EKOS
