Procurement Specialist I or II

Restek Corporation is looking for a Procurement Specialist to become a part of our Purchasing division. This role may be filled as either a Procurement Specialist I or II, depending on the candidate's relevant education and experience. As a Procurement Specialist I, your main duties will involve managing the internal requisition process and carrying out replenishment tasks for designated categories. In the role of Procurement Specialist II, you will primarily oversee supplier relationships to guarantee timely deliveries at competitive pricing, while optimizing inventory levels to avert shortages and enhance inventory turnover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate purchase orders based on demands from the ERP system or approved requisitions.
- Support internal stakeholders with their requests and purchase orders, promptly addressing any issues related to purchasing needs.
- Gather supplier product or service details, including pricing, availability, and delivery timelines in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist in resolving and documenting supplier discrepancies concerning quantity or quality.
- Manage office supply inventory through regular assessments, purchase orders, and restocking efforts.
- Help maintain database accuracy in ERP and other systems to ensure information is reliable and accessible.
- Additional responsibilities assigned to a Procurement Specialist II.
- Carry out other tasks as needed to support departmental objectives and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required, along with at least one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to qualify for a Procurement Specialist I position. Additional education and/or experience may be necessary for consideration as a Procurement Specialist II.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
