Job Overview:

The Precision Machine Operator is responsible for operating advanced computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery, including milling and grinding equipment, to fabricate high-precision components. This role involves both the repair and production of parts utilizing both automated and manual tools, adhering strictly to specifications outlined in technical drawings and blueprints. The operator will report directly to the Cell Supervisor/Work Leader and will be accountable for assigned tasks.

  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail in high-tolerance manufacturing processes.
  • Employ intermediate mathematical skills for measurement and problem-solving.
  • Replace cutting tools as necessary to ensure product quality.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes as required.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using inspection instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and various hand tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical manuals, with knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Adjust machine feeds and speeds and change cutting tools as needed.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery.
  • Complete necessary inspection documentation accurately.
  • Receive and execute priorities and assignments from supervisors.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to safety practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Secure and align fixtures, tools, and materials on machines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in machining or CNC operations is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment:

The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical components, and varying temperatures. The noise level is typically loud.

Education:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; experience is valued but not mandatory.

Certifications:
