Job Summary:

The Food Runner is a vital member of the Salerno's Aurora team, responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables efficiently and accurately. This role requires a high level of organization, communication, and teamwork skills to ensure seamless service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Delivery: Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of all food menus, including carryout and catering options, to ensure accurate delivery of orders.
  • Guest Service: Ensure guests have everything they need on the tables after delivery of food, including proper silverware, napkins, and share plates.
  • Station Maintenance: Keep kitchen stations clean and organized, with utensils and steak knives polished and stocked.
  • Team Support: Assist servers, bartenders, and managers with carrying plates, and communicate effectively and courteously with guests and co-workers.
  • Food Order Communication: Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests, such as food allergies.
  • Stress Management: Perform calmly and effectively under stressful conditions, promoting a positive atmosphere of teamwork.

Requirements:

  • Food Handler Certification: Complete Food Handler Certification per state requirement.
  • Multi-Tasking: Perform more than one task at a time, following supervisor's instructions.
  • Uniform and Appearance: Report to work in a complete required uniform, maintaining a well-manicured appearance and persona that reflects the image of Salerno's Aurora.
  • Punctuality: Meet personal schedule requirements punctually.
  • Courtesy and Friendliness: Be courteous, friendly, and pleasant, standing and walking for an entire shift.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. via food or beverage trays or required equipment needed to perform specific job duties.
  • Safe Movement: Safely transport items to and from kitchen on a slick uneven surface, and lift and carry multiple plates from kitchen to dining room.
