Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Marinator to join our team at Simmons Foods. As a Marinator, you will be responsible for operating the marination tumbler, mixing ingredients, and recording pertinent information on designated forms. You will also communicate with supervisors, support staff, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all instructions for marination mixture and product flow are followed and comprehend marination paperwork.
  • Set up paperwork and scales prior to the start of shift and order all seasonings for each mix and ingredients.
  • Track time of batches from start to finish and communicate with support staff on product needs.
  • Take temperature of marinator mix and each batch marinated during shift and assist with marinating for other lines as needed.
  • Work with process control to weigh product pieces per batch and document weight, as well as record any downtime for the department.
Team Player

As a member of our team, you will participate in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. You will coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members and attend relevant team meetings.

Simmons Operating Systems

You will be familiar with Simmons' established operating systems, including quality, security, office environment, and company policies. You will understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity with these systems and your role in supporting them.

Physical Demands

This role requires standing on feet for the entire shift, stooping, extending arms, pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 50 pounds in a cold, hot, wet, noisy environment. You may also need to squat, fine manipulate/feel with hands, push/pull, or perform repetitive motions with shoulders, arms, and hands.

Personal Protective Equipment

You will be required to wear standard waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, slip-resistant footwear, safety glasses, and a dust mask.

Technical Experience

You may be required to obtain and maintain company-issued pallet jack certification.

Education and Competencies

You must be able to read, write, and communicate in English, perform basic math, and have basic computer skills. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Competencies include communication skills and decision quality, with the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.
