Maintenance Technician Job Description

This critical role plays a vital part in ensuring the seamless operation of Canik USA's manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment according to a predetermined schedule, including lubricating parts, replacing worn components, and inspecting for potential issues.
  • Identify and inspect equipment or machines in need of repair, utilizing technical expertise to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform timely repairs to minimize production disruptions, leveraging technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and mechanical expertise.
  • Support outside suppliers in performing equipment and building maintenance, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and prevent unexpected failures, maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Perform general facilities repairs, including drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures, ensuring a safe and well-maintained work environment.
  • Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Manage inventory levels of spare parts and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs, coordinating with procurement to ensure timely availability of required parts.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance activities, prioritizing the well-being of employees and the facility.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and work areas to identify hazards and implement corrective actions, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and production personnel to troubleshoot complex issues, implement improvements, and support continuous process optimization.
Qualifications & Knowledge Required:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a strong foundation in mathematics and science.
  • The ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers is essential.
  • Knowledge of facilities maintenance and the ability to use hand tools and power tools are necessary.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to work independently as well as with a team is crucial, as is the capacity to operate in an evolving and often unstructured environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and switch gears quickly are also essential.
