About the Role

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fitness Center Manager to join our team. Key Responsibilities
  • Facility Management: Oversee the daily operations of the fitness center, including the setup, monitoring, and teardown of sports leagues and special events.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to members, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train staff members to ensure they are providing excellent customer service and adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement programs and services that meet the needs of our members, including fitness classes, workshops, and special events.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Promote the fitness center and its programs through various marketing channels, including social media, email, and in-center promotions.
  • Financial Management: Manage the fitness center's budget, including revenue and expenses, to ensure financial sustainability.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g. exercise science, sports management) preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a fitness center or recreational facility management role.
  • Certifications: Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, Oxygen, and YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguarding certifications preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Benefits
  • Competitive Salary: $16.28 to $16.78 per hour, depending on qualifications.
