We are currently seeking a Full-Time Special Education Instructor to join our multi-disciplinary treatment team. The Instructor will be responsible for delivering educational instruction tailored to the needs of students, ensuring compliance with educational standards and regulatory guidelines.
Position Duties Include:
- Providing classroom instruction and maintaining accurate documentation for both facility records and student educational systems.
- Managing a classroom environment typically consisting of 6-10 students aged 5 to 18.
- Engaging in Referral Development activities and liaising with educational institutions.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisory team.

Qualifications:
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Virginia Provisional Teaching Certificate.
- Certification in Special Education with endorsements in Emotional Disabilities and Specific Learning Disabilities or General Education Curriculum K-12.
- Current certifications in CPR, HWC, and First Aid.
- Medication management certification (for Dayschool only).
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in teaching within an inpatient psychiatric environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively with adolescents aged 11 to 17.
- Minimum age of 21 years as per state regulations.
- Exhibit patience, tact, and a positive demeanor.
- Strong communication skills; proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Basic clerical skills and familiarity with office equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Able to follow oral and written instructions effectively.
- Capable of problem-solving and accepting constructive feedback.
- Willingness to engage with patients of varying cognitive abilities.
