Structural Steel Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Estimator to join our team at CyberCoders. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for creating accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects, including labor and material costs.

• Review project plans, specifications, and documents to understand requirements, scope, and challenges.
• Analyze drawings to identify material, equipment, and labor needs, assessing complexity and risks.
• Measure and quantify materials, equipment, and labor from drawings, researching costs, bids, and labor rates to develop accurate cost estimates and pricing proposals using estimating software.
• Compile bid packages with cost estimates and proposals, ensuring compliance with project requirements and deadlines.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for quotes and submit bids, participating in negotiations as needed.
• Communicate with clients during bidding and project management, addressing inquiries and negotiating terms to build trust and satisfaction.
• Analyze cost-saving opportunities through analysis and value engineering, collaborating with stakeholders to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
• Maintain organized documentation of cost estimates and bid proposals, preparing reports for management review and decision-making.

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in steel estimating.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost calculations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Tekla, or similar).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
