The Borough of Lansdale Police Department is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Police Support Specialist - Communication. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling public inquiries, and supporting the police department's communication efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Provide customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Handle public inquiries, referring calls to appropriate department personnel as needed.
- Enter data into the Net/I-viewer computer system, ensuring accurate and timely information.
- Greet the public at the front counter, handling basic financial transactions and performing clerical duties as assigned.
- Monitor police radio and surveillance cameras, including inmate cells.
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with two years of combined experience in general clerical work, including word processing and data entry. Extensive public contact experience, use of radios and multi-line telephone systems, and experience with help-desk or call center software are also required. Three years of experience working in a police department is preferred. The successful candidate must be willing to work shift work, holidays, weekends, and emergency overtime as needed, and pass a criminal background investigation and obtain C.L.E.A.N. certification.
