Position Overview

Lewis University is looking for a dedicated faculty member to engage in teaching within the field of early childhood education. The successful candidate will exhibit a strong commitment to educational excellence, scholarly research, and community service across various levels of the academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and submit revised course syllabi adhering to the approved format
  • Ensure course materials meet established competencies and measurable outcomes
  • Evaluate student feedback through Course-Instructor Evaluations each semester
  • Design and deliver assigned courses effectively
  • Outline in-class and out-of-class assignments in the course syllabus as necessary
  • Promote student retention through proactive communication with students and administration
  • Participate in program and course evaluations to ensure student learning objectives are met
  • Timely submission of midterm and final grades
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of Academic Affairs

Essential Qualifications:

  • Doctoral or master's degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards and curriculum design
  • A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in online teaching or utilizing course management systems
  • Background in working with diverse student populations
  • Flexibility in working hours is essential
  • Proven record of teaching, research, and service in related academic fields

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree in the relevant discipline
