Ensures a secure and safe atmosphere for both patients and staff by conducting thorough patrols and surveillance of the facility's interior and exterior.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Accountable for safeguarding the premises through regular patrols, performing hourly inspections, securing entry points, and overseeing surveillance systems while monitoring guests and visitors.
Provides a visible security presence throughout the facility.
Oversees all mechanical systems to confirm proper functionality, including:
Identifying failure signals on control panels
Checking for standing water and potential fire hazards
Reporting any mechanical failures detected during inspections
Responds promptly to alarms and emergency codes.
Documents incidents by recording observations, relevant information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
Familiarizes with and adheres to the Emergency Action Plan and evacuation protocols of Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital.
Monitors visitation periods, maintains order in the lobby, secures visitor belongings in locked storage, and assists in guiding visitors to designated areas.
Handles phone inquiries, takes messages, responds to questions, and provides information during non-operational hours.
Performs custodial tasks outdoors as necessary.
Collaborates effectively with all departments.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Understanding of safety and security protocols is essential.
A minimum of two (2) years of security experience is required, preferably within a healthcare setting.
Strong communication skills are necessary.
Ability to respond with urgency in emergency situations.
Capability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Demonstrates sensitivity and willingness to engage with individuals from diverse social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey detailed instructions accurately.
Ability to work under various challenging conditions, including extreme temperatures, both indoors and outdoors.
Exhibits sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
