The Department for Children & Families' Family Services Division is seeking dedicated professionals to support the well-being of children, families, and communities. As a Family Services Worker, you will play a vital role in conducting assessments and providing ongoing support to at-risk families, children under state care, or youth under juvenile probation.
You will work closely with parents, relatives, educators, law enforcement, community-based service providers, courts, foster parents, and other stakeholders to ensure the safety, stability, and compliance with the law for children in vulnerable situations.
This is a challenging and meaningful role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high levels of stress and emotional situations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct assessments related to child abuse and neglect or delinquency
- Provide ongoing support to at-risk families, children under state care, or youth under juvenile probation
- Collaborate with parents, relatives, educators, law enforcement, community-based service providers, courts, foster parents, and other stakeholders
- Develop and implement plans to ensure the safety, stability, and compliance with the law for children in vulnerable situations
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in social work
- Or a Bachelor's degree and 18 months of human services casework experience
- Or satisfactory completion of 12 to 18 months experience as a Family Services Worker trainee in DCF
