Job Summary

The University of Colorado is seeking an exceptional Emergency Psychiatry Specialist or Psychiatric Emergency Services Provider to join our esteemed team of healthcare professionals. As a key member of our emergency department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, working closely with our emergency physicians, nurses, and other support staff to ensure excellent outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Manage Emergency Presentations: Conduct thorough assessments of patients in crisis, including relevant laboratory tests and imaging, to determine the best course of treatment.
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Develop brief, focused treatment plans to address the unique needs of each patient, taking into account their medical, social, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with emergency physicians, nurses, and other support staff to ensure seamless care coordination and excellent patient outcomes.
  • Stay Current with the Latest Developments: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest research, best practices, and treatment modalities in emergency psychiatry to provide the highest quality care to our patients.
Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess a strong background in emergency psychiatry, with a focus on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in crisis. A minimum of 1-3 years of clinical experience at the rank of Clinical Instructor or equivalent experience is required. Additionally, candidates must be board certified, eligible, or eligible by the time of hire in psychiatry. A CO physician license or eligibility for a CO physician license is also required.
