Job Summary

ProMedica Health System is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all HVAC Systems and associated equipment located throughout the hospital campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain all air handling equipment, air filtering systems, and associated equipment as it relates to HVAC field.
  • Maintain all compressed air systems with any HVAC systems, including pneumatic controls and devices.
  • Maintain all water circulating pumps associated with HVAC systems.
  • Maintain all motors, belts, drives, and associated equipment with HVAC systems.
  • Maintain all air-cooled condensing units and associated evaporator units.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and perform corrective maintenance related to the building automation system for all associated HVAC systems.
  • Maintain and operate water chillers, cooling towers, hot water boilers, and associated equipment.
  • Maintain all computer room self-contained air conditioning units, including glycol type coolers and pumps.
  • Turn in daily completed work requests and review schedule with immediate supervisor.
  • Responsible for organization's compliance to rules and codes set forth by regulatory agencies, i.e., JCAHO, OSHA, NFPA, etc.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years' experience in HVAC maintenance.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
  • Working knowledge of electricity, fire/safety codes, and air conditioning principles.
  • Knowledgeable of all types of circulating pumps and air conditioning motors.
  • Working knowledge of process steam and its usage for HVAC systems, including steam valves and steam traps.
  • Ability to communicate well with others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HVAC certificate or trade school.
  • 4 years or combination of education and work experience.
  • Working knowledge of building automation systems.
Working Conditions
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Per OSHA guidelines.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations. Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to tolerate exposure to hazardous chemicals, dust, fumes, electrical voltage, and temperature changes, and work at heights utilizing ladders and lifts at 20% of the time; and differentiate between colors. Must be able to work with tools and operate various controls and machinery. Must be able to move, lift, or carry materials or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds up to 55% of the time; 20 pounds 10% of the time; and 100 pounds 5% of the time.
