ROLE SUMMARY:
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the educational facilities. This role requires a valid driver's license and a low-pressure boiler license, along with a minimum of three years of custodial experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Principal and Head Custodian, the Custodian will:
  1. Perform daily cleaning tasks across various areas including classrooms, restrooms, and common spaces.
  2. Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the grounds, including trash removal and maintenance of outdoor equipment.
  3. Manage light maintenance tasks such as replacing bulbs and ensuring all areas are properly lit.
  4. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify cleaning and maintenance needs.
  5. Assist in setting up and moving furniture for events and daily operations.

DAILY DUTIES:
  • Empty waste receptacles and clean surfaces in classrooms and common areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, ensuring they are stocked and sanitized.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of cafeterias and lunch areas, including table sanitization.
  • Perform grounds maintenance tasks, such as mowing and weeding.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with five years of relevant custodial experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The role requires physical stamina to perform various tasks, including lifting materials and operating equipment. The Custodian must be able to work in various weather conditions and perform emergency duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Candidates should possess knowledge of custodial operations, safety practices, and basic maintenance procedures. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
