The Surgical Technology Program Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students and ensuring the success of our program. This position requires a strong commitment to our mission, a drive for continued professional development, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of students and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, orient, and supervise faculty members for the department.
  • Conduct regular observations and evaluations of faculty to ensure excellence in teaching.
  • Support faculty in their professional development.
  • Assure correct scheduling and registration of returning students.
  • Participate in the budgeting process to meet program needs.
  • Review student progress and eligibility for graduation.
  • Collaborate on curriculum development and updates.
  • Organize advisory committee meetings.
  • Participate in accreditation self-studies.
  • Maintain department equipment and coordination with externship placements.
  • Advise students on their academic journey.
Qualifications
  • Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.
  • Education: Associate degree in Surgical Technology.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in scrub role; AND Minimum of 3 years in the last 5 years as a practicing surgical technologist OR instructor in surgical technology.
  • Teaching: Previous teaching experience is preferred.
  • Management: Management experience is required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
