Position Summary

The role of the Maintenance Mechanic is crucial in ensuring the operational efficiency of our manufacturing equipment. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining and enhancing the performance of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform servicing, replacement, and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical machinery, including but not limited to pumps, motors, compressors, conveyors, and other production apparatus.
  • Install, maintain, and repair piping networks.
  • Fabricate components, and execute welding, cutting, and installation of metal structures.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and accurately document work orders.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of boiler room and facility equipment, including boilers, pumps, air compressors, chillers, and HVAC systems.
  • Utilize maintenance shop tools and equipment effectively.
  • Interpret technical documents such as schematics, manuals, and service bulletins.
  • Employ electrical testing equipment to safely assess power sources, fuses, breakers, and switches.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and aerial lifts.
  • Organize and prioritize individual tasks efficiently.
  • Ensure timely installation, servicing, and repair of all machinery.
  • Maintain a comprehensive set of hand tools.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization within the plant and workshop areas.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, or a minimum of two years of relevant experience at Teknor Apex Company.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to thirty pounds overhead multiple times within an eight-hour shift.
  • Capability to climb and work from ladders as needed.
