Job Title: Clinical Nurse II - Cardiovascular

Duke Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II - Cardiovascular to join our team. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse II - Cardiovascular will utilize professional cardiovascular theory, technology, and processes to implement direct patient care on pediatric and adult congenital patients requiring diagnostic or therapeutic procedures within the cardiovascular service. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with the medical and nursing plans of care and established policies and procedures.
  • Assist the physician during invasive and non-invasive procedures to treat congenital cardiac disease and cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Maintain high standards to achieve quality patient care and communicate continuously with the physician about the patient's condition.
  • Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
  • Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs, and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) OR Associate's Degree in Nursing OR Nursing Diploma program.
  • Previous work experience (1+ years) as a clinical nurse is required.
  • Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina required.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • PALS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
