Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Home Health team at Northern Light Health. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing physical therapy services to patients in their homes, working under the direction of a licensed physical therapist.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and participate in rehabilitative programs to improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions.
  • Perform complete, accurate, and timely documentation, including billing within the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain a safe environment, complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures, and report and address environmental hazards and patient safety policy violations.
  • Monitor the effects of treatment and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Participate in patient, caregiver, and staff education.
  • Attend team meetings and communicate with other team members, individuals, family members, or caregivers.
  • Provide feedback on patient condition to PT to develop appropriate discharge plans.

Requirements:

  • Current license to drive in the state of Maine, with reliable transportation and agency-required auto liability insurance.
  • Ability to travel within assigned region as directed.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required prior to independent visits.

  • Lifting, moving, and loading 30 to 50 pounds.

  • Potential exposure to diseases or infections.
  • Work with computers, typing, reading, or writing.
  • Work beyond the regularly scheduled hours.
  • Extend body and limbs to reach items.
  • Prolonged periods of kneeling.
  • Lifting, moving, and loading less than 20 pounds.
  • Lifting, moving, and loading 20 to 30 pounds.

Education:

Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant or related field.

Credentials:

Required Physical Therapy Assistant.
